About the How to Gay Podcast

Picture of Paz and a book titled "How to gay"

The How to Gay Podcast was created as a question that popped up in my head. Does anyone really how how to gay? What is it like being in the gay community? How does "gay" affect my everyday life?

Being gay has always been a part of me and sometimes I forget that it's an aspect of my life. Is being gay affecting my perspective? Is it the travel? The people I talk to? The movies I watch? My podcast tackles topics to further refine the gay experience.

I created the moniker of Honesty, Optimism, and Whimsy to remind myself of how I should bring about my gay lifestyle.

Honesty - I'm not going to sugarcoat something. If you're looking for fake, look elsewhere. Yes, my upbringings have created opinions, but I can learn from mistakes and grow.

Optimism - I've been through a lot in my life, the good times and the bad, and I will continue to grow. I can't dwell on the dark, I have to look up.

Whimsy - I'm a bit of a creative cat, and I think this podcast has been helping me out with that. I'm a singer and musician and inspiration can come from anywhere. Being weird is okay.

That's really the core of what I see the direction of the How to Gay podcast.

The How to Gay Podcast is posted every other Thursday and the length of the episodes range, but have a minimum of 22 minutes. Episodes are broken into introductions, updates or news, a light topic discussion, midroll ad-break, main topic, random recommendation, and outro. I'm aiming for anyone in the LGBT+ community, but clearly aimed for gay men 25+. I'm here to bring a conversation; maybe have someone listen to my life and nod.
